St. Michael’s School exists in order to provide for the religious, educational, technological, emotional, social, and cultural needs of the children of St. Michael’s parish and community within an atmosphere of respect and Christian love.
Since St. Michael’s is here to serve the needs of the community, for the most part, it has an open door admission policy; it takes children where they are and tries to lead them upward with a success oriented combination of large and small group instruction, departmentalized and self-contained classrooms, as well as remedial and enrichment programs.
We believe that each child is unique. Children do learn, grow and assume responsibility at different rates. We do believe that before children can learn and develop to their full potential, their psychological, social, emotional and physical needs must be met.
Saint Michael’s School is part of the Archdiocese of Newark. Located in the heart of beautiful Newark, New Jersey. Saint Michael’s integrates the educational and religious needs of our students. Our children will realize their optimum potential, in an atmosphere steeped in Catholic Values, through the interweaving of Family, School and Church in an equal partnership.
Visitors are welcome to our school. However please know that when you come on site, you are a stranger to most of our students. Please sign in at the office and receive a visitor pass. Students have been told to expect to see all guests in the building wearing identification and to report to the teacher/office those who are not.
